Montreal

The Fondation du Grand Séminaire de Montréal announces the appointment of Alexandrina Diac as Executive Director. Ms. Diac will be succeeding Sébastien Froidevaux, who held the position for more than 12 years.

Alexandrina Diac has over 15 years of experience in business administration, working specifically with academic and charitable organizations.

In recent years, she has held the position of Vice-President of Finance and Administration at the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) and worked with charitable and religious organizations such as the Dominican University College Foundation and the Archdiocese of Montreal. Equally committed to her community, she is actively involved in parish work in Montréal and sits on the boards of the Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul de Montréal and the Albatros organization in the Montérégie area.

“We are delighted to welcome Alexandrina Diac to our extended family,” states Gilles Choquet, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fondation du Grand Séminaire de Montréal. “Her skills in managing various organizations, both secular and religious, will certainly be a great asset in developing structuring projects with the Grand Séminaire de l'Archidiocèse de Montréal (GSAM). I would also like to extend my warmest thanks to Sébastien Froidevaux for his dedication and remarkable contribution over the years, and wish him every success in his future endeavours.”

“It is a privilege and an honor for me to take on the leadership of the Fondation du Grand Séminaire de Montréal, an institution that plays an essential role in the education and spiritual development of many people in Québec,” says Alexandrina Diac. I pledge to tirelessly pursue the Fondation's mission and to work in collaboration with all our partners and donors to strengthen the Fondation's positive impact in our community.”

Sébastien Froidevaux, who has been with the Fondation for over 12 years, is stepping down after a number of important achievements. Indeed, the Fondation was a key player in the Grand Séminaire de l'Archidiocèse de Montréal’s relocation to the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough in 2021 after more than 150 years in its downtown location—the objective being to be closer to the people and more involved in Montréal life.

“I leave this position with a deep sense of gratitude for the last 12 years spent at the service of this institution,” explains Sébastien Froidevaux. “Today, I can confidently say that the Fondation has become a privileged partner of the Grand Séminaire de l'Archidiocèse de Montréal in fulfilling its mission. I would like to thank all our loyal donors for their ongoing support. As I return to Switzerland to take care of my health, I wish Alexandrina every success in pursuing the Fondation's mission.”
