The responsibility of Christians to welcome migrants and to address “the new forms of poverty and fragility” migrants experience and in which they “are called to see the suffering Christ,” was the focus of a daylong conference in Montreal, Canada, in late March.

Lent is a favorable time when we can break the chains of our individualism or our isolation and rediscover through encounter and listening, our companions along the journey of each day.

In a few days, we will celebrate Palm Sunday, or, more precisely, Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion, since the liturgy combines two contrasting moments, one of joy and the other of suffering.
