For nearly 55 years, the Development and Peace Share Lent campaign has been central to our Lenten seasons.

From Development and Peace

Development and Peace is an organization founded by Canadian bishops in 1967. It is the Catholic Church’s official movement for international solidarity, supporting partners in the Global South in the pursuit of alternatives to unjust social, political and economic structures.

A variety of resources are made available by Development and Peace in order to assist each parish and Christian community in spreading the message of the 2022 Share Lent campaign: ‘‘This Lent, let’s put people and planet first!’’

Parishes are invited to order copies online of the poster and the mini-magazine for each Christian community, in addition to the collection envelopes for the fund-raising effort on the fifth Sunday of Lent, Solidarity Sunday, at: https://www.devp.org/en/campaign/people-planet-first/share-lent/resources/ or by telephone at: 1 (888) 234-8533, ext. 600.

The above site can also be consulted in order to download messages for inclusion in parish bulletins, prayer intentions for Prayers of the Faithful for each Sunday during Lent, the Solidarity Calendar, the Family Bulletin, Weekly Reflections, a Short talk for Solidarity Sunday, the Way of the Cross for Good Friday, as well as campaign-related videos.
