About Religious Heritage Days
Religious Heritage Days is an annual event coordinated by the Conseil du patrimoine religieux du Québec (Quebec Religious Heritage Council). Its mission is to showcase sacred heritage sites and treasures—churches of various eras and architectural styles, pipe organs, works of art, archives, monuments, cemeteries, and more—that bear witness to the knowledge, practices, rituals, and ideas that shaped our communities.
These discoveries are offered through cultural activities such as guided tours, heritage circuits, concerts, lectures, and exhibitions. Many initiatives are also tied to local and regional efforts to preserve, enhance, and make this heritage more accessible.
The program is built collaboratively, on a voluntary basis, from proposals submitted by communities across Quebec. Each activity is hosted on-site and organized by a local or regional coordinator.
While all activities are free of charge, voluntary contributions may be suggested, and donations can be received on-site.
