With October 2019 being the Extraordinary Missionary Month, Mission foi invites all Canadians to join a digital missionary campaign.

The Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith, Mission foi, announces the launch of the Canadian component of the international digital campaign – “My mission is… And yours?” elaborated by the Œuvres pontificales missionnaires (OPM) to support the Extraordinary Missionary Month proclaimed by Pope Francis for October 2019.

The countdown has begun. Few days separate us from October. Mission foi invites all Canadians to download the official campaign poster to write on it a few words about what they believe their Christian life mission to be. Each participant must afterwards post on their Facebook page or Twitter account a picture or a video of their personalized poster and challenge someone else, with the hashtag #MyMission, to maintain the chain of testimonies.

“We all are, each of us, a mission of love and solidarity,” says Fr. Yoland Ouellet, o.m.i., the OPM national director for French-speaking Canada. “We wish to remind the whole people that being Christians means to go into the world to proclaim the Good News. To achieve this, we are called to love God and our neighbour, and to be a witness on a daily basis.”

The digital campaign will unfold in two stages. In August and September, the segment “My mission is” will be used and passed from one person to the next with the hashtag #MyMission. In October, the message will become “Our mission is” with the hashtag #OurMission. Mission foi has already received some stories.

The OPM hopes to receive more than 5000 testimonies from Canada and many more from elsewhere in the world.
