Montreal

Archbishop of Montreal Christian Lépine gives great importance to the celebration of the Solemnity of Christ, King of the Universe, the culmination of the liturgical calendar cycle. This year, therefore, in communion with the Holy Father, our Universal Church and in the Spirit of International World Youth Day, he invites all young people in the Diocese of Montreal to join in a four-part celebration of Diocesan World Youth Day 2022:

  • Teen Festival: Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The Teen Festival invites teens to discover or renew their relationship with Christ as well as build relationships with other young people in a safe and holy environment designed for them.
  • MTL WYD Week: from November 13 to 20, 2022.  WYD week is an opportunity for the whole Church to celebrate and encourage the protagonism of youth in the Church and society.
  • Christ the King Vigil: Friday, November 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 20, 2022, Christ the King Sunday Masses: in parishes.

5:00 p.m. Solemn Mass for the Feast of Christ the King, celebrated by the archbishop at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.

The theme of WYD 2022 is “Mary set out and went with haste” (Luke 1:39)

“I invite you to join with our young people, especially for the Vigil of Christ the King, at which I will have the opportunity to bless all those who work with them. Let’s pray together for the youth of our Diocese, who are the “today” of God,” urges Montreal’s Archbishop Christian Lépine.
