The French Canadian Province of the Society of Jesus announces the death of Father Irénée Beaubien, who died on Monday, May 15, 2017, at the age of 101, having completed 80 years of religious life.

The body will be exhibited at the Gesù Church (1202, Bleury Street, Montreal) on Friday, May 26, from 7 to 9 pm.

Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 27 at 10:00 am at the same location and will be chaired by Provincial Superior Father Erik Oland, SJ, with the participation of the Canadian Center for Ecumenism.

Father Irénée Beaubien is a leading figure in Canadian ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue.
