What better way to mark the Epiphany than to come together and celebrate the joy that God brings to our lives and to see the connections he helps us build? It was in this spirit that pastoral teams from across the diocese gathered Jan. 14 and 15 to receive the Archbishop's blessing.

The 400th anniversary of the birth of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys was celebrated on Sunday, Jan. 12, the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, at Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel.

On Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, the Government of Canada, through the Department of Justice, launched a two-week general public consultation on the expansion of eligibility criteria for euthanasia/assisted suicide (which the Government refers to as "Medical Assistance in Dying"/MAiD).

After the holiday bustle, three gatherings for those involved in pastoral teams across the diocese were hosted by the Archdiocese of Montreal to celebrate not only the joy of the birth of Christ but also the Epiphany, the feast highlighting the adoration of Jesus by the Magi.

Trusting in the Word of God allows us to overcome idolatry, pride and excessive self-confidence. In his homily on Monday during Mass at the Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis said that being a “good Christian” means listening to what the Lord says about justice, charity, forgiveness and mercy.
