Development and Peace – Caritas Canada is set to launch its Share Lent 2026 campaignOn Track for Justice, inviting people of faith across the country to take concrete action for social justice, human rights, and the protection of our common home at the global level.

A Season of Solidarity and Commitment
More than a fundraising initiative, Share Lent is a communal journey rooted in prayer, fasting, and generosity. Throughout the Lenten season, the campaign draws attention to the daily struggles faced by communities in the Global South and calls us to walk in solidarity with our sisters and brothers who are working courageously to uphold their rights, dignity, and livelihoods.

By supporting Share Lent, donors help build a genuine bridge of solidarity between North and South. Contributions accompany grassroots partners as they defend human rights, protect local ecosystems, and strengthen community-led efforts to improve living conditions in contexts marked by inequality and environmental pressure.

A Global Conversation on Ecological Justice
A key component in this year’s campaign will be the national launch webinar, taking place on February 21, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. (ET). This online event will offer participants an opportunity to deepen their understanding of ecological justice challenges in Brazil, through the witness of Justiça nos Trilhos (“Justice on the Rails”), a longtime partner working alongside communities affected by extractive industries and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Learning, Encounter, and Action
Throughout Lent, a series of formations, workshops, and public events will be offered in various regions, equipping local communities to engage more deeply with issues of justice and solidarity. The campaign also provides a weekly newsletter, along with a wide range of printed and digital resources — including posters, reflection guides, and parish- and school-based fundraising tools — designed to support education, prayer, and collective action.

Why Get Involved?
