Montreal

On March 30, 2016, St. Raphael Palliative-Care Home and Day Centre officially secured its access to the property of the old St. Raphael church with the signing of an emphyteutic lease with the Archdiocese of Montreal.

Most Reverend Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal, and Mrs. Marie-Michèle Del Balso, Chair of St. Raphael's Board of Directors, proceeded with the signing of this 75-year lease - comprising an initial term of 25 years and two renewal options of 25 years each. For St. Raphael's, this marks a significant milestone towards the realization of its project to build and operate a 12-bed palliative care home and the first palliative care day centre in Montreal.

The major fundraising campaign cabinet is actively pursuing its work, and already some major donors have enthusiastically and generously given their support, confirming a strong adherence to our objectives.

Renovation of the old church is expected to begin during 2016.
