Discover Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral: Guided Tours
Montreal
The general public is invited on Saturday, May 23, 2026, to a guided discovery tour of Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, Montreal, open to all, whether or not they hold a personal faith.
Led by Brother Dominique of the Monastic Fraternities of Jerusalem, the morning offers two time slots: 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The journey unfolds across two complementary visits, each offering a distinct yet related entry point into the cathedral's spiritual and historical richness.
The first visit, titled What the Walls Proclaim, guides participants through the cathedral's Latin inscriptions and historic frescoes, illuminating the theological vision embedded in the building's architecture and recalling the founding vision of Bishop Ignace Bourget, under whose inspiration the cathedral was built.
The second visit, The Saints of Montreal, takes a more accessible and contemplative approach, centred on the statues and popular devotions that have shaped the faith life of the local Church. Through the figures enshrined within these walls, visitors encounter the living tradition of saints whose witness has marked the history of Montreal's Catholic community.
Together, the two visits trace a meaningful arc: the first presenting the Church's vision as it was conceived and proclaimed; the second reflecting the faith as it has been lived, day by day, by ordinary believers.
Brother Dominique brings to this journey both monastic depth and a gift for accessible accompaniment.
Admission is open to all, regardless of faith background.
