Entitled Remembering So That We Will do Better, the declaration calls for an individual and collective responsibility to face the persistence of violence, 30 years after the murder of 14 women at École Polytechnique on December 6, 1989, and 30 years later the publication by the AECQ of the Violence en héritage tool? Pastoral reflection on conjugal violence.

In addition to this statement, the Church and Society Council is releasing a partial list of commemoration and reflection events scheduled for December 6, 2019, as well as a proposal for a Christian commemoration ritual for the National Day of Remembrance and Action against the violence towards women. Finally, the Church and Society Council puts forward various pastoral resources produced by AECQ committees to counter violence against women and foster the development of a true partnership culture in the Church in Quebec.
