With sadness, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of former Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, upon hearing of his passing.

Canada’s 18th Prime Minister “died peacefully, surrounded by family,” according to a social media post, yesterday evening.

We give thanks for his years of service and the countless contributions he made to our country.

During this difficult time, we offer our thoughts and prayers to the Mulroney family, friends, and all those who were touched by his life and his leadership.

May the grace of the Divine provide comfort and peace to all those who mourn his loss. May he rest in eternal peace.

Details of funeral arrangements will be shared once available.

With heartfelt sympathy,

+Christian Lépine
Archbishop of Montreal
