Central Deanery Teams Gather for Morning of Prayer and Fellowship
Montreal
On Monday, November 24, Sainte-Madeleine Parish in Outremont welcomed some fifty priests, deacons, and pastoral staff from the Central Montreal deaneries for a morning of spiritual renewal and fellowship with Archbishop Christian Lépine. The gathering was organized by Jean-Marie Bilwala, Episcopal Vicar for the Central Deaneries, fostering mutual support and community among participants.
The morning began with prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, including a reflection by Archbishop Lépine, a period of silent adoration, and the Liturgy of the Hours. This time allowed participants to focus on what matters most and renew their commitment to serving their communities.
Several diocesan leaders then shared brief updates on initiatives to better support parishes and strengthen collaboration on the ground. Presenters included:
- Caroline Tanguay – Services to Parish Fabriques
- Gabrielle Bélanger – Diocesan Office of Ethics
- Johanne Bazinet – Responsible Pastoral Mnistry
- Isabel Correa – Evangelization & Christian Life / Mission Jeunesse Youth Ministry
- Holly-Kirsten Eugenio and Jn Job Casimir – Mission Jeunesse Youth Ministry
The morning concluded with a simple, generous meal provided by the local parish community, offering time for meaningful conversation and reinforcing the bonds among those engaged in the region’s pastoral mission
The gathering reminded participants of the importance of coming together in prayer, sharing experiences, and creating spaces for dialogue and fellowship. It reflects a Church that walks together in communion, serving parishes and all entrusted to their care.
