“Abound in hope!” This powerful message from St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans is the theme for National Family and Life Week 2025, which begins on Sunday, May 11th, and concludes on Sunday, May 18th. As we journey together as “Pilgrims of Hope” in this Jubilee Year, let us reflect on the gift of hope God gives us through our families.

All families, parishes and parish groups, ecclesial movements and associations, as well as Catholic schools are encouraged to take time this week to celebrate their own families, express gratitude, offer forgiveness, or share meaningful moments with loved ones. This week is an opportunity to promote life and live out our call to love each other within our homes, communities, and the world.

May God’s loving care inspire all families to abound in hope, living our call to holiness as missionary disciples. Let us not just be glimmers of hope but beacons of hope! As St. Paul encourages, “abound in hope!”

National Family and Life Week provides an opportunity for the Catholic faithful across Canada to be beacons of hope, promoting life, and living out the call to love one another at home, in communities, and in the world. This Week is a welcome reminder that, through God’s grace, all can abound in the certain hope that Christ is always present, serving as a guide along the path to His perfect love.
