On the occasion of the Diocesan Patronal Feast Day, May 29, 2015, four people and six organizations of consecrated life will be recipients of this year’s Monseigneur-Ignace-Bourget Diocesan Award of Merit.

On the occasion of the Patronal Feast, on Friday, May 29, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, the Archbishop of Montreal, Most Rev. Christian Lépine, will highlight the Year of Consecrated Life.

Every year, during the Diocesan Patronal Feast, the Archbishop takes the opportunity to thank people, organizations, and institutions for the generosity with which they have served and continue to serve the Church of Montreal, by presenting them with the Monseigneur-Ignace-Bourget Diocesan Award of Merit.

This medal is named after the second bishop of Montreal (1840-1876), a prominent figure of faith, charity, and social commitment in the history of our Church and of our nation.

This year, four people and six organizations of consecrated life will be honoured during the Eucharistic celebration that will constitute the heart of this great diocesan gathering.
