Pope Francis has writtten a letter to the whole People of God addressing the ongoing crisis of sexual abuse in the Church.

Pope Francis has approved a new revision of paragraph number 2267 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, according to which “a new understanding has emerged of the significance of penal sanctions imposed by the state,” thus “the death penalty is inadmissible”.

Sunday, August 5th marked the annual peace ceremony in memory of the victims of the 1945 nuclear bombing of Hiroshima, organized by the City of Montreal and the Japanese consulate, in the Japanese gardens of Montreal’s Botanical Gardens.

A state funeral will be held in Montreal on August 9 at 11 a.m. Presided by Most Rev. Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal, the funeral Mass will take place at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.
