Dear young people,
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to celebrate every Diocesan World Youth Day with you. Such moments allow us to celebrate together our faith in Jesus Christ and to be witnesses of our joy and our hope in the city.
It is in this same spirit of joy and hope that I invite you to join me on Saturday, April 13, on the occasion of the 34th Diocesan World Youth Day.
Last year, we pondered about the fears we may feel in our lives, but especially about the importance of recognizing the reassuring presence of God each single day. This meditation was guided by the words spoken by the angel Gabriel to Mary: “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God” (Lk 1:30).
This year, Pope Francis invites us to meditate on the following theme:
“I am the servant of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word”
By celebrating the Diocesan WYD centered around this answer filled with humility that Mary has given to the angel, I encourage you to come and discover God’s loving providence for us and how we are invited to open our hearts completely and trustfully to Him.
Come in great numbers to this celebration and invite your friends!
While waiting to have the joy of meeting you, I express to you my most cordial wishes. I pray for each and every one of you. May God, in His great goodness, fill you with His blessings and guide you on the path of true love.

Archbishop of Montréal
Often, young people are convinced that their spiritual life is completely separate from their everyday life. The Apostles’ Cup bridges the gap between a young person’s faith and their involvement in sports; a sphere of their life in which faith is not always so...
