What kind of question is that? Invisible Churches, in our diocese? That may just be the last thing on some people’s mind, considering what can be heard about churches being sold, lack of priests, low youth attendance at Mass…
However, this issue of Haute Fidélité should give us a reality check. All over the world, and right here in the Church of Montreal, there exists an abundance of small faith groups, new religious communities, movements, and lay associations. Often inspired by Vatican II, these discreet faces of our Church share life experiences around a page from the Gospel, follow the footsteps and spiritual heritage of their movement’s founder, build authentic and fraternal community relationships…
Are we aware of these many faces of our Church, or are they invisible to our eyes? What do they contribute to the life and mission of our local Church? How do they co-exist with our parishes? Hi Fi’s pages answers some of these questions in this issue, in hopes of helping us work towards “being Church”, together… by seeing the invisible.
