McGILL UNIVERSITY: FREE WORKSHOPS

The Council on Palliative Care will provide three free sessions for caregivers. Light refreshments will be served. All workshops will take place at the Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom (4100 Sherbrooke St. W., Westmount-entrance at 395 Elm Avenue) from 6pm-8pm each evening on the following dates:
April 4 – Little Stars accomplishing the extraordinary in the face of serious illness. Discusion following the film with Dr. Stephen Liben, Director of Pediatric Palliative CCare at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
April 11 – What Matters Most finding what to say at the end of life and Lessons of Loss,
inspirational video vignettes of stories in bereavement. Discussion following the videos with
Dr. Christopher MacKinnon, Senior Psychologist at the Balfour Mount Palliative Care Unit at the MUHC.
April 18 – Music & Art: Alive in the Home with Samantha Borgal, accredited music therapist and Sarah Tevyaw, art therapist.

Choir Workshop

All are welcome on Saturday, March 21 from 2pm-5pm at St. Columba-by-the-Lake Presbyterian Church (11 Rodney Ave., Pointe-Claire). Renowned soprano, Chantal Dionne, will cover the basics of good vocal technique. Celebrated Canadian conductor, organist and composer, Patrick Wedd, will teach us about beautiful choral singing and interpreting text. Tuition is $40 for one class or $70 for two classes. 2014 Wardens’ Sessions

The Office for English Pastoral Services, in partnership with the Diocesan Finance Office, is offering a two-evening study session for the role of wardens elected to a Fabrique. A special invitation is extended to all newly-elected wardens of your parish as well your parish secretary and bookkeeper. The sessions will be held on Thursday, March 20 and Wednesday, March 26, from 6:45pm-9:30pm both evenings (2000 Sherbrooke St. West, Montreal). Please register by March 13. Heralds of the Gospel: 2014 Course Sessions

We will offer a course in three languages to study True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary by St. Louis de Montfort. Cost is $20.
In Spanish: the first and last Saturday of each month beginning February 22, 7:30pm at St. Gilbert Parish (5420 Angevin St., St. Leonard)
In English: the first and last Monday of each month beginning February 24, 7:30pm at St. Luke Parish (106A Anselme-Lavigne St., Dollard-des-Ormeaux)
In French: the first and last Tuesday of each month beginning February 25, 7:30pm at St. Antonin Parish (5391 Snowdon St., Montreal)
