St. John Brébeuf Parish: Black History Month – Film Presentations

Hosted by our Social Justice group. Fair trade coffee, tea and light snacks will be served. Freewill offering at the door. Invite your friends and family to the following special films:Something the Lord Has Made (2005) on Friday, February 21 at 7pm. A modern true-life story about the black cardiac pioneer Vivien Thomas and his complex and successful partnership with white surgeon Alfred Blalock and the world famous “Blue Baby”. Lee Daniel’s The Butler (2013) – PG13 on Sunday, February 23 at 2pm. Tells the true story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents over three decades. Hosted by students from Loyola High School as part of their community service project. Cost is $3 and includes popcorn and a drink. Join us for both films (855 Bishop Power St., LaSalle).
