WORLD DAY FOR CONSECRATED LIFE

As festivities for the 375th anniversary of the founding of Montreal begin, Archbishop Christian Lépine will celebrate a special Mass for consecrated life on Saturday, January 28, 10am at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral (1085 de la Cathédrale St., Montreal). All are welcome to attend.

 

CELEBRATE WORLD MARRIAGE DAY

All married couples are invited to celebrate World Marriage Day, which honours married couples as heads of the family, the basic unit of society, and salutes the beauty of their faithfulness, sacrifice and joy in daily married life. Join us on Saturday, February 11, 5pm for a bilingual mass presided by Archbishop Christian Lépine at Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral (1085 de la Cathédrale, Montreal). Do you feel called to follow Christ the Servant? FROM THE NEIGHBOURING DIOCESE OF OGDENSBURG, NEW YORK: 2016 VOCATIONS SUMMIT – INSPIRE, CALLED TO LOVE

Bishop Terry LaValley invites everyone to celebrate the universal call to holiness and its manifestation in the vocations of Christian marriage and family life, the single state, the consecrated religious life, and the ordained priesthood and diaconate. INSPIRE: Called to Love will be held on Sunday, September 25 at the Olympic Centre Complex, in Lake Placid, NY (2634 Main St., Lake Placid, NY 12946).
Participants will have the opportunity (from early morning) to take part in breakout sessions being led by internationally known speakers, including:

● The Most Rev. Robert Barron, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles, CA.
● The Most Rev. Christopher Coyne, Bishop of Burlington, VT.
● The Most Rev. Paul-André Durocher, Archbishop of Gatineau, QC, and guest homilist for Holy Mass (scheduled for 3:15pm)

ST. KEVIN PARISH: 5 À 7 WITH RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES

St. Kevin Parish is initiating a monthly activity for youth 13-18 years old on Saturday, October 10 in connection with the Year of Consecrated Life. We will visit religious communities and see first-hand how they live and work. The two-hour visit will include a tour of the house or facility, a brief talk on their spirituality/charism, prayer time, and a question and answer period with the religious over soft drinks or juice. Departure from the parish will be at 4pm. This month’s destination will be the Salesian Sisters of Montreal (8555 Joliot-Curie, Montreal). Free of charge. Please register by Friday, October 9. Weekend for Young Adults: Grand Séminaire de Montréal-175th Anniversary

“You shall remember…that He loves you” – Dt 5:15 is the chosen theme by the Grand Séminaire for its 175th anniversary being celebrated throughout 2015 until November 17. As part of the year’s festivities, the GSM will be hosting a gathering for young adults (18-35 yrs) from Friday, June 5 at 5pm to Sunday, June 7 at 2pm (2065 Sherbrooke St. West, Montreal). It will be a time for young adults to celebrate their faith through testimonies, sharing, music, prayer, adoration and so much more. Cost is $55 without accommodations or $80 with accommodations. Permanent Diaconate: Come and See Evening

“Because of Christ, the reality of service is of such importance to the Church that it is a Sacrament incarnated in a
particular ministry, that of the diaconate.” There will be a Come and See evening for single or married men who feel they may be called to the Permanent Diaconate, making Christ the Servant present in the liturgy, in the proclamation of the Word, and in the exercise of charity.
