ST. KEVIN PARISH: PRESENTATION BY SR. LORRAINE CAZA, CND – 375TH ANNIVERSARY OF MONTREAL AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

Explore and appreciate the role of the Catholic Church in the development of Ville Marie, the little colony now known as Montreal. We welcome speaker, Sr. Lorraine Caza, NCD, Doctor of Theology and Superior General of the Congregation of Notre –Dame from 1996-2006. Pastoral Home Care Services invites you to view and discuss a very provocative film about a family dealing with early-onset dementia, entitled Still Alice. St. John Fisher Parish: Catholic Films and Documentary

Exposed for the first time since 2010, the Shroud of Turin is again being viewed and venerated by over one million visitors, including Pope Francis, in the Turin Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. To mark this great occasion, we will be hosting a film presentation of The Shroud, scripted by Ian Wilson, on Sunday, June 14 at 4pm (120 Summerhill Ave., Pointe-Claire). Following the film, we will welcome guest speaker, Gordon Deery, founder of the Holy Face

This year, May 13 marks the 98th anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady to three children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. All are welcome on Wednesday, May 13 at 7pm (120 Summerhill Ave., Pointe-Claire) for the film presentation of The 13th Day, a beautiful film recounting these momentous events. Holy Name of Jesus Parish: Special Event for May, Our Lady’s Month

Miguel and Monica Reyes, missionaries with Totus Tuus Ministries, will be presenting a 45-minute multimedia catechesis on the fascinating and inspiring apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Juan Diego, a simple peasant who is now canonized. Redeemer Ministries: How Can I Share My Faith with Others?

This event is co-sponsored by the Newman Centre of McGill and the Concordia University Catholic Students Association. Come hear guest speaker Michael Dopp, co-founder of Mission of the Redeemer Ministries, as he presents “What is the New Evangelization?” and the top ten tips on how to evangelize. The presentation will be offered twice on the following dates:

The Newman Centre of McGill University

The Virgin Mary plays a huge role in the life of the Catholics. The great 19th century English theologian and Anglican convert, John Henry Newman, who initially struggled with the role and importance accorded to Mary in the Catholic tradition, became one of her greatest proponents, integrating patterns from her life into his own thought and vocation. On the Solemnity of the Annunciation, Wednesday, March 25 at 5:30pm, Msgr. Frank Leo Jr. will deliver a public lecture (one hour) on “The Marian Paradigm in the Life and Writings of John Henry Newman” at the centre (3484 Peel St., Montreal). A reception will follow. Pastoral Home Care Services: Living Change – A Spirituality of Transition

Join us with guest speaker Cathie Macaulay on Wednesday, March 25, 7pm at St. Veronica Parish (1300 Carson Ave., Dorval). Marriage, family, grief, illness, career, retirement and seniority: our lives are filled with transitions. How are we called to live these transitions as people of faith? Do difficult times have anything to teach us? This workshop will explore how our faith tradition offers us help along the path of change. Cathie Macaulay is the coordinator of Pastoral Home Care Services at the Archdiocese of Montreal. She is also a spiritual director and teacher with the Ignatian Spirituality Centre.
